ABOUT
Privacy
WhichWarmup is a static site with no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. Two things measure it: Google Analytics, which sets cookies only if you accept them in the banner, and an anonymous count of clicks to vendors kept on our own server without cookies. The diagnostic and the calculator run entirely in your browser, and nothing you type into them is transmitted or stored anywhere.
Who is responsible for this site's data
The publisher, Gwendal Goron, based in France, decides what this site measures and is the person to write to about it: contact@whichwarmup.com. The site is served as static files from a shared host in France. There is no database here, no user account and nothing on our side that holds a profile of you.
Audience measurement, with your consent
Audience measurement. With your consent, Google Analytics 4 measures which pages are visited. Without consent, no measurement cookie is set; Google only receives cookieless signals used to estimate traffic. Your choice is kept for 6 months and can be changed at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
| Recorded after you accept | Never recorded |
|---|---|
| Which pages you opened, and in what order | Your name, your email or any identifier you gave us, because you gave us none |
| Clicks on links leaving the site for a vendor | Anything you typed into the diagnostic or the calculator |
| Approximate location from your IP address, country level in reports | Your precise location |
| Device, browser and how you arrived, including the search terms Google chooses to pass on | Anything you did on a vendor's site after you left ours |
Google processes that data as described in its own policies. We read the result as aggregate traffic: which guides get used and which links get clicked. We have no interest in, and no means of, identifying an individual reader.
The tools send nothing anywhere
The diagnostic and the cost calculator are the parts of this site where you might type something about your own setup, so they are the parts worth being exact about.
- Both run as JavaScript inside your browser. There is no server call behind them, because there is no server here beyond a file host.
- Your mailbox counts, sender counts, budgets and diagnostic answers stay in the page and disappear when you close the tab.
- Nothing is saved to your device, not in local storage and not in a cookie of ours.
- Nothing is sent to us, and nothing is sent to any vendor named on this site.
The analytics tag sees that you opened the calculator. It does not see a single number you put into it.
What happens when you leave for a vendor
Links to tools open the vendor's own site, and from that click you are on their ground and under their privacy policy. We have no visibility into what you do there.
Clicks to vendors. When you click a link to a vendor, our server records the page, the vendor and where the link sat on the page, with no cookie, no IP address and no identifier: these anonymous counts tell us which pages are useful. They are kept for 13 months.
Some links to vendors carry a partner identifier so the vendor can attribute a sale to this site; that identifier says a visitor came from here, not who the visitor is. The affiliate disclosure keeps the current state on the record.
Email, and your rights
If you write to contact@whichwarmup.com, your message and your address land in the publisher's personal inbox and stay there for as long as the exchange is useful. They go into no mailing list, no CRM and no vendor's hands, and you will not be sent anything you did not ask for.
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice the honest answer for a reader is that we hold nothing except an analytics record we cannot tie to you, and, if you have written to us, your email. Ask at the address above and we will do it. For the analytics data itself, Google is the processor and its own controls apply.
Questions people also ask
Does WhichWarmup store what I type into the calculator?
No. The calculator and the diagnostic run entirely in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to us or to any vendor, nothing is saved to your device, and everything disappears when you close the tab.
What cookies does this site set?
One first-party cookie, gg_consent, remembers your choice in the banner for 6 months. Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept. The anonymous click count uses no cookie at all. Declining leaves the site fully working.
Do you sell or share data?
No. There is nothing to sell: no list, no accounts and no reader profiles. The analytics data sits in a Google Analytics property the publisher controls and is read as aggregate traffic.
